This Urban Reload beginner guide covers everything you need before your first fight in the Roblox shooter by Squad Labs: the starting kit, the compass icons, how death works and how to keep your guns. Facts come from the official game page and the Roblox store data. Gameplay details come from creator videos on YouTube, so we word them as what those videos show.
What Is Urban Reload?
Urban Reload is a tactical PvP shooter set in one open city, and every street is a possible fight. Squad Labs created it on October 5, 2026. It is free to play, and a server holds 20 players. On October 31, 2026 about 11,000 people were playing, with roughly 4.7 million visits so far.
The loop is simple. You fight other players, loot the guns of the ones you beat, farm for cash and spend it on better gear. The official description also mentions attachments, rare camos, cars you can unlock, crews and global leaderboards. For the full picture of the site, start at the Urban Reload wiki home page.
Urban Reload Beginner Guide: Your First Session
A creator video shows the starting kit as a weapon, a drink that gives a speed boost, kevlar armor and a medkit. Use that kit to get your bearings before you push toward other players. The steps in this Urban Reload beginner guide follow the order most videos use.
- Look at the compass at the top of the screen and learn the icons (see the next section).
- Head to the Farm Zone and kill zombie NPCs to earn your first cash. Our Urban Reload money guide has the full routine.
- Take the cash to the gun shop and buy a weapon case. The Urban Reload weapons page explains cases and attachments.
- Store a gun you care about in a Safe before you go looking for fights.
A used car dealership also exists in the city. The starting car is basic, and cars can be driven around the map.
Reading the Compass Markers
The compass is how you find your way around. Two markers matter most early on.
| Marker | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Yellow skull | The Farm Zone, where zombie NPCs spawn |
| Gun icon | The gun shop, where weapon cases are sold |
You may also see a safe-zone icon near the Farm Zone. Do not read it as protection. Guides warn that the Farm Zone itself is not safe from other players.
Losing Your Gun on Death and the Safe
This is the rule that defines the game. The official description says you lose your weapons when you die, and that you can loot guns from the players you defeat. So the gun you carry is always at risk.
The Safe is how you protect a gun. A creator guide shows weapons stored in a Safe at a safe zone, which keeps them through death. A paid product called +10 Safe adds 10 Safe slots for 999 Robux, which tells you slots are limited. Details on that and other purchases are on the Urban Reload game passes page.
Practical habit: store the gun you value most before a risky fight, and carry a spare you can afford to lose.
Healing, Armor and Getting Downed
Guides advise equipping your medkit and kevlar after you take damage, so keep both in your hotbar. Headshots do more damage, so aim high and expect the same from other players.
When a player is downed, a teammate can revive them, or they can choose to respawn. After a kill you can loot the defeated player, which is the fastest way to pick up a new gun.
Controls Worth Knowing
- E loots zombies in the Farm Zone.
- Hold ALT to free the mouse cursor so you can click the shop menus.
Squad Labs has not published a full key list yet. We will add more bindings when a source confirms them.
Mistakes New Players Make in Urban Reload
If this Urban Reload beginner guide had one warning, it would be to drop these four habits:
- Carrying your only good gun everywhere instead of storing it in the Safe.
- Standing outside the gun shop. Creator guides report that players camp there.
- Farming zombies with your back to the open street and no armor on.
- Skipping the medkit until you are almost down.
Looking for free rewards? Check the Urban Reload codes page, which currently shows that none exist. For the seasonal tasks, see the Urban Reload ghost locations checklist. Questions that no page answers go to the Urban Reload Discord page, and the rest of our pages are in the Urban Reload guides hub. We do not cover scripts or exploits, because they break Roblox rules and risk a ban.
